We’re the strategic payments partner for some of the best known fast-moving brands globally such as Wise, The Hut Group, Sony Electronics, Sainsbury’s, Deliveroo, Adidas, Klarna, and many others. Purpose-built with performance and scalability in mind, our flexible cloud-based payments platform helps global enterprises launch new products and create experiences customers love. And it's not just what we build that makes us different. It's how.

We empower passionate problem-solvers to collaborate, innovate, and do their best work. That’s why we’re on the Forbes Cloud 100 list and a Great Place to Work accredited company. And we’re just getting started. We’re building diverse and inclusive teams around the world — because that’s how we create even better experiences for our merchants and our partners. And we need your help. Join us to build the digital economy of tomorrow.

Job Description

In this role, you’ll be working in a lean team, building Checkout’s own People Operating System. Your role will be to develop products that all of our 2000+ employees will use daily, from ideation to deployment.

Our vision is to create the Operating System for everything about our People at Checkout. We are developing a comprehensive OS suite covering the entire employee lifecycle, from pre-joining to alumni.

We believe investing in our internal OS will empower our people to thrive by providing tailored tools aligned with our Culture, Operating Principles, and individual needs.

We embody our Run Lean and Pace Matters Operating Principles. We are building a Checkout People OS team that is lean by design, where those who define what should be built are also the ones building it. We believe that rapid iteration (within days) is key to our success.

We are user-centric. Everyone is involved in discussions with users to understand their pains and needs. We understand what it takes to build a great product, and we possess the technical knowledge to do so. When we lack expertise, we rally support to ensure high-quality execution.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Engage with colleagues, department, and team leads to identify priorities for our People OS;
  2. Design products and features to improve daily life for all colleagues;
  3. Own the development and iteration of your products and features;
  4. Collaborate within the People OS team, brainstorm, and contribute wherever possible.
Qualifications

What are we looking for:

  1. At least 3 years of experience in building full-stack web applications;
  2. Proven experience with end-to-end ownership from conception to deployment;
  3. Proficiency in UI/UX: React, Typescript, Tailwind, with a passion for creating user-friendly experiences;
  4. Proficiency in Backend: Next.js (App Router), Postgres, AWS, with a focus on fast iteration and efficient systems;
  5. Experience with a Product and Entrepreneurial mindset;
  6. Ownership-driven, proactive problem solver, capable of user interviews and iterative development;
  7. Positive attitude and resilience.
