Job summary

9fin, a London-based AI platform for debt markets, seeks a Senior IC Engineer to lead backend and frontend projects, design systems, and mentor peers. You'll ship APIs, data processing and ML-assisted features within a cross-functional team.

You'll collaborate with product and clients, review code, and drive improvements across the stack, from Python services to React interfaces, in a hybrid working model with opportunities for growth and impact.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior IC Engineer, leading system design and mentoring teammates
• Ability to move between frontend and backend and pick the right tool for the problem
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React, plus scalable backend services
• Experience building APIs and data processing pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and productive workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead projects by defining systems and delivering new service functionality
• Develop backend services and web application hosted tools
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews
• Automate, refactor and document code for maintainability
• Work across complex financial data modelling and access control logic
• Collaborate with product and clients to align on requirements
• Provide productive developer experience with preview environments and feature flags
