The team:
You’ll be joining our Core team - a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Product Managers and Designers, all collaborating together with the wider business to achieve impactful product outcomes in our core product offering.
Everyone is involved from day one in shaping opportunities that provide value to both clients and suppliers on Risk Ledger, always keeping the users at the forefront of our minds.
We care deeply about building the right thing, in order to fundamentally shift mindsets in the cybersecurity industry. We ship quickly & continuously in order to learn and iterate - whilst always pushing for high standards and keeping security top of mind.
As our business grows and evolves, we are introducing - alongside our main roadmap - a Growth motion to our business. This means the work you’ll be involved in will rotate between product features, technical investment and experiments designed to enhance our understanding of our customer base and guide us in our journey of acquiring more users and providing value for these users.
The core of our stack is Go, PostgreSQL and Vue.js with Typescript. Our product primarily sits on top of AWS, with ECS for container orchestration and all managed via Terraform.
This role:
Our Product Engineers play a crucial role in our user and product experience. You will be focused on solving end-to-end product challenges in the best manner for our customers. Whilst you may have a natural inclination towards the backend or the frontend, we expect you to delve into any aspect of our tech stack as necessary to have an impact on our customers and success of the business.
You’ll be collaborating on a daily basis with designers, product managers, other engineers and the wider business to create a great product experience and continuously ship value to our users.
And as one of our more senior engineers, you will also have a long-standing impact on our engineering strategy, codebase and developer experience.
In the role you will:
- Collaborate to deliver exceptional product. From understanding initial needs to crafting usable solutions, you'll work directly with product managers and designers to bring ideas to life.
- Be flexible: you apply different approach to the task at hand based on context. You would be as comfortable applying the right quality and diligence when dealing with a key product feature as you would with quickly putting together an experiment to evaluate user’s needs and interactions.
- Lead from the front. By asking the right questions at the right time, challenging assumptions, encouraging continued learning and driving positive impact through building deep trust and credibility with the team.
- Enjoy being a generalist. We are building an amazing and talented team from a diverse set of backgrounds and skillsets. Our engineers are empowered to work in all areas of our platform, and across all areas of the business, directly contributing to the wider success of the company.
- Have an impact. We're a growing startup - so expect to have a hand in everything from product decisions to engineering strategy.
- Depth of experience developing high quality software in a cross-functional product team, with the ability to hit the ground running
- Hands-on, production experience across any tech stack, such as Go, Python, Ruby or Java on the backend, and Vue or React on the frontend.
- Ideally experience in both product development and experimental development (a perfect fit here will be in Growth like teams).
- A desire to deeply understand our customers and the problems they face, in order to improve their day-to-day experience.
- An ability to thrive in ambiguity, tackling problems that might not be well defined and without obvious solutions.
- Proven ability to take the initiative, make well-judged trade-offs and drive forwards decision making.
- A passion for levelling up those around you through a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- A keen sense of curiosity, with a natural drive to learn and grow.
£90,000 - £110,000 GBP
