Job summary

MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading British outdoor apparel brand to recruit a Senior Product Developer based in Milton Keynes. You will own end-to-end development and commercialisation of products across assigned categories, balancing quality, performance, cost and margin while leading the Product Development and Materials team.

Working with Design, Production, suppliers and factories, you will ensure products progress through development efficiently, meeting quality, safety, testing

Qualifications

• Proven Product Development experience within apparel, outdoor or technical clothing.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, fabrics and testing.
• Experience managing product development from concept through to production approval.
• Strong critical path management and ability to run multiple workstreams in parallel.
• Commercial understanding of costing, margin and value engineering.
• Experience with international suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead product and material development from concept through to production approval.
• Manage Product Development and Materials team with clear priorities.
• Own the development critical path and seasonal milestones.
• Coordinate prototypes, fit reviews, testing, approvals and production readiness.
• Identify and manage risks across product, quality, cost and delivery.
• Balance design intent with commercial and technical requirements with stakeholders.
• Oversee specifications, BOMs, testing requirements and documentation.
• Lead sample reviews and fit sessions across garment construction and materials.
• Review supplier costings and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Support delivery of cost and margin objectives and optimize methods.
