The role requires a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, power monitoring, energy management architectures, communications networks, and software platforms across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data centre, and critical infrastructure environments.

While primarily focused on EMS and power monitoring, knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and smart building technologies is desirable as energy, electrical, and building operational data become increasingly integrated.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Application Expertise
  • Provide technical expertise in power metering, power quality monitoring, EMS software, gateways, and associated infrastructure.
  • Support system architecture, metering strategies, communications design, and reporting frameworks.
  • Recommend solutions that meet customer requirements, industry standards, and energy management best practices.
  • Advise on sub-metering, energy visibility, power quality, carbon reporting, and electrical network optimisation.
  • Support integration of EMS platforms with BMS and smart building systems.
Pre-Sales & Sales Enablement
  • Work with sales teams to position EMS and power monitoring solutions.
  • Participate in customer meetings, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Support technical proposals, tender reviews, and solution design.
  • Collaborate with global teams to develop the products and provide application examples and reference architectures.
System Integration & Commissioning
  • Support system integrators, consultants, contractors, and commissioning engineers.
  • Assist integration between metering devices, EMS platforms, SCADA, BMS, cloud, and enterprise systems.
  • Support industry-standard protocols including Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, OPC UA, and REST APIs.
Customer Consultancy & Enablement
  • Act as a trusted advisor for consultants, facility managers, energy managers, and end users.
  • Help customers translate energy objectives into practical monitoring and optimisation strategies.
  • Deliver technical training internally and externally
  • Identify market trends and customer requirements to support future product development.
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution, power metering, and Energy Management Systems.
  • Experience with platforms such as Power Monitoring Expert (PME), EcoStruxure Power Operation (EPO), Resource Advisor, or similar solutions.
  • Understanding of power quality, load analysis, demand monitoring, and energy reporting.
  • Experience with Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet, serial communications, and IP networking.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, cybersecurity principles, and remote connectivity.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with consultants, system integrators, contractors, switchboard manufacturers, or energy specialists.
  • Knowledge of switchgear, protection systems, cloud-connected energy platforms, and digital energy solutions.
  • Familiarity with ISO 50001, Part L, energy efficiency programmes, Net Zero initiatives, sustainability reporting, and carbon reduction.
  • Experience with power quality analysis, energy reporting, and metering applications.
  • Exposure to BMS and smart building platforms such as EcoStruxure Building Operation, Niagara, Siemens, Trend, Honeywell, or Distech.
  • Understanding of EMS-to-BMS integration and building automation protocols such as BACnet.
