Our people put our stakeholders at the heart of everything they do by helping us to make a positive difference to the lives of our clients, customers, colleagues, shareholders, and society.

We are focused on growing our direct and advised wealth platforms and repositioning our specialist asset management business to meet client demand. We are committed to providing excellent client service, supported by leading technology and talent.

Aberdeen comprises three businesses, Interactive Investor (ii), Investments, and Adviser, each focusing on meeting and adapting to our clients’ evolving needs:

  • Interactive Investor: The UK’s second-largest direct-to-consumer investment platform, enabling individuals in the UK to plan, save, and invest in the way that works for them.
  • Our Adviser Business: Provides financial planning solutions and technology for UK financial advisers, enabling them to create value for their customers.
  • Our Investments Business: A specialist asset manager focusing on areas where we have strength and scale, capitalising on key market themes through public markets or alternative asset classes.
About The Role

Our Global Procurement Team supports the wider business in procuring goods and/or services to enable the organisation’s daily operations. Using effective business partnering, we support the delivery of commercial value while achieving improved service and effective supply chain risk management.

Occupying a key position in the Procurement team, you will need to develop an understanding of our business and suppliers to maximise performance and efficiencies. You should be able to communicate and influence at all levels within Aberdeen and with external third-party suppliers.

You will work closely with SRMs and key business partners to share knowledge, experience, and expertise related to standard methodology. You will coordinate procurement activities for important projects and apply strategic procurement techniques to improve value for Aberdeen. You will also contribute SME procurement input to develop Category Strategies.

Responsibilities include mapping current and future spend, conducting spend analysis, scanning the market, challenging the status quo, and exploring more efficient service delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support procurement plans aligned with Aberdeen’s strategy and business needs.
  • Ensure security of supply, regulatory compliance, quality, service, and value delivery.
  • Develop and implement procurement systems to address business challenges and maximize value.
  • Lead procurement initiatives such as Tenders, RFPs, and negotiations.
  • Provide SME input for Category Strategies.
  • Collaborate with global heads and stakeholders to manage supplier relationships and mitigate third-party risks.
  • Stay informed of market developments to support risk management and competitive analysis.
  • Deploy modern procurement techniques and support the development of the global procurement function.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced global procurement environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication at senior levels.
  • Proficient with sourcing tools, technology, and automation.
  • Financial literacy, including understanding P&L and cash flow impacts.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and see the bigger picture.
