Job summary

Norwich City Council is seeking a Strategic Procurement professional to lead and deliver a high‑quality procurement service across the Council. You will manage Procurement Officers, provide expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders, and drive compliance with procurement legislation and Contract Procedure Rules while supporting the Council’s strategy and operational management.

This role also deputises for the Strategic Procurement Manager and involves working closely with service areas

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a high‑quality procurement service across the Council and manage Procurement Officers.
• Provide expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders and ensure compliance with procurement legislation and Contract Procedure Rules.
• Deliver the Council's Procurement Strategy and Contract Management Framework and align with wider corporate objectives.
• Collaborate with service areas and leadership teams to provide customer‑focused procurement solutions.
• Deputise for the Strategic Procurement Manager and support both operational and strategic procurement.
• Manage procurement officers and supervise Procurement Support Officers as required.
