Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects.

As part of the global Nidec Procurement team, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of Procurement's overall Projects and New Product Introduction (NPD) program. This includes project managing key programs, working across the business, integrating, aligning, and delivering procurement requirements through effective project management, communication, and reporting.

From project inception to delivery, you will lead your team, demonstrating performance in commercial and project timelines, with bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director.

You will play a key role in aligning and shaping our procurement function, ensuring sourcing decisions support our strategic direction, and contributing to the vision and strategy of the senior leadership team.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborating with Global Procurement Category Managers on strategies and goals.
• Ensuring cross-functional alignment and project progress reporting.
• Working globally with regions and functions to optimize performance.
• Leading and participating in project management meetings and reviews.

Tactical Execution:

• Developing and managing procurement NPD and project plans, reporting progress and deliverables.
• Leading procurement reviews internally and with the wider business.
• Supporting NPD plans to meet tight deadlines.
• Ensuring regional implementation of NPD plans aligned with targets.
• Maintaining KPIs to measure project execution.

Team Structure and People Management:

• Providing leadership for the procurement NPD team.
• Advocating for procurement NPD and projects, becoming a key knowledge resource.
• Monitoring and reviewing team performance.
• Communicating effectively across all levels of the business.
• Managing regular reviews with procurement teams, other functions, and regions.

Relationship Management:

• Developing strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Collaborating with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
• Facilitating delivery and performance of project deliverables.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel to various Nidec locations and suppliers, including international trips.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CIPS, Bachelor's degree, or Project Management qualification.
• Proven experience in projects or procurement, ideally in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with electronics and mechanical raw parts (preferred).
• Experience in project management in complex, cost-effective environments.
• Logical, structured, and proactive mindset.
