Your new role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager - Strategic Sourcing to play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of sourcing initiatives. You will lead, develop, and execute commodity strategies within an assigned business unit, aligned with overall business strategies and priorities.

Using your understanding of the business strategy, you will proactively partner with your business unit at a senior level, aligning the BU’s needs with the sourcing strategy, ensuring the delivery of goods and services of the right quality, price, and timeliness, safely.

Additionally, the Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing will lead and manage a small team responsible for commodities within their business unit, including a Procurement Manager and Senior Buyers. You will be responsible for managing, developing, motivating, and inspiring your team to be engaged and effective.

This role involves managing key supplier relationships, maximizing supplier productivity, and achieving savings. You will stay informed on market outlooks, innovations, products, and pricing, leveraging this knowledge to identify opportunities for products and suppliers, and facilitate access to supplier innovations and development.

Furthermore, this position offers the opportunity to leverage the global buying power of the Linde group by collaborating with regional and global teams, sharing best practices and learnings.

What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior/management procurement role within a large national or global company
• Degree-level education (MSc/MBA) or equivalent; CIPS qualification is desirable
• Strategic sourcing/procurement skills demonstrated at a senior level
• Successful leadership experience managing people, teams, and change, with a record of building effective teams
• Proven success delivering results within a large, international networked company
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially senior leaders
• High self-motivation and tenacity to achieve results in high-pressure environments
• Strong commercial and business acumen, understanding of products and services
• Project management skills with a focus on continuous improvement, savings, and influencing change across functions and levels
• Comfortable working in a complex, evolving organization with ambiguity
• Demonstrates integrity and promotes an inclusive workplace culture
