A public sector organisation in Wales is seeking a senior procurement professional to deliver a high-quality procurement service. In this role, you will manage procurement processes, engage with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with procurement regulations. Ideal candidates will have significant procurement experience and be MCIPS qualified. The position offers a salary of £47,519 plus benefits including a civil service pension and a work-life balance environment.

Location
Our headquarters is in 2, Capital Quarter, Cardiff, designed to meet our needs. This is where most colleagues will meet to collaborate, both with each other and with stakeholders. We operate across Wales and have limited office space in Welsh Government offices in Llandudno Junction, Aberystwyth, Swansea and Merthyr Tydfil.
Medr is seeking to recruit a senior procurement professional to join its Procurement team. You will deliver a high quality and professional procurement service, obtaining the best value for money for the public funds entrusted to us.
Working closely with colleagues across Medr, you will deliver procurement solutions to enable everyone to successfully achieve our objectives and contribute to the development of a strong tertiary education sector in Wales. You will manage the procurement process to ensure Medr is compliant with current and new procurement regulations in Wales, the UK and internationally. You will drive forward Medr’s procurement policies and strategies so they reflect best practice, are sustainable and are embedded across the organisation.
The procurement team sits within the Procurement, Payroll and Finance section, managed by the Head of Procurement and supported by two senior procurement managers (one of whom is this post) and a procurement manager. This is an exciting time to join as we roll out new procurement policies and procedures and address new challenges.

Karen Wolliner, Head of Procurement. Karen has worked in public sector procurement for more than thirty years and is a Fellow and Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply. She has experience in local government and education since 2001 and emphasises safeguarding the public purse and achieving value for money.
