Are you experienced in Procurement and looking for a new challenge?

We've got a fantastic opportunity to join our Procurement team at SNG (Sovereign Network Group) as Senior Procurement Manager.

Based from either Basingstoke or Wembley, you'll combine home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance. To support close collaboration with the wider procurement team, there will be an expectation to be in the Basingstoke office on a weekly basis.

It's an exciting time to join us as Sovereign have joined forces with Network Homes to form SNG. Together we provide over 84,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Strategic Sourcing, you'll be a key member of the senior leadership team within Procurement. You'll be responsible for the approach and methodology for SNG's procurement activity, demonstrating where procurement can add measurable value and identifying solutions which support the delivery of SNG's corporate goals. This is a hands-on role, responsibilities include:

• Accountability for a number of strategic spend categories within our Property Services and Housing Asset Management business areas, alongside line managing the category managers who will also have responsibility for their own groups of spend categories
• Supporting multiple complex procurement projects across all areas of spend within our Property Services and Housing Asset Management business areas, ensuring that the procurement team and its service offering is aligned to business needs and the Procurement Strategy
• Taking a lead in supplier engagement and sourcing activities end to end, as well as supplier engagement, from definition of business requirements and sourcing, tender analysis and negotiation, and supplier performance management aligned with our SRM framework
• Contributing to the strategic transformational workstreams including data integrity and data reporting to maximise the use of data to impact decision making
• Line Management of the team in partnership with our other Senior Procurement Manager, ensuring continuous support and encouragement for personal development

What we need from you

You should have previous experience in a similar role within procurement, with significant experience in category management, including a track record in leading supplier engagement and sourcing activities to drive value for money. It would be beneficial to have procurement experience from within property services or housing asset management, although this isn’t essential.

You'll also need:

• To demonstrate a flexible approach and utilise a range of sourcing techniques to identify, develop and deliver solutions
• Experience of leading and managing multiple projects
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to form effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Good attention to detail and experience in contract drafting and varying
• Leadership skills and a desire to coach and develop a small team
• Experience of working under and advising on PCR 2015 regulations and knowledge of Procurement Act 2023
