Job summary

Fortnum & Mason is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead Indirect Goods & Services sourcing from our Head Office in Piccadilly, London. You will drive end-to-end procurement processes, coach stakeholders, and shape the cross-category indirect strategy to unlock cost savings and value.

Responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, delivering KPI-driven performance, and supporting ERP transitions (NetSuite) while collaborating with Finance and IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• CIPS or MCIPS qualification.
• Proven indirect procurement category management experience with IT spend optimisation.
• Track record of delivering cash savings and EBITDA improvement through procurement strategies.
• Strong negotiation, people management and contract management skills.
• Experience with transitioning to new Finance/Procurement systems and advanced Excel.

Job description

Our Head Office department is in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.

The jobholder will play a key role in the Procurement of Indirect Goods & Services on a group wide basis. The jobholder will be expected to lead full lifecycle sourcing projects - coaching and managing key stakeholders through all stages of and end to end Procurement process, from opportunity identification, through RFX, supplier negotiation and contract drafting/signature. In turn, it is expected that the jobholder supports the supplier relationship management of business critical, indirect vendors helping drive value, performance and operational efficiency in line with contractual KPI's and SLA's. The role will also require strong strategic skills to enable the jobholder to create, lead and deliver the overarching indirect cross category strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead the Indirect Procurement team, driving procurement strategies, embedding category management and initiatives that enhance cost-effectiveness and deliver significant cash savings.
• Develop and maintain effective measures of procurement performance and use them to target and drive continuous improvement, e.g., KPIs and savings trackers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including merchandising, marketing, facilities, IT, legal, people and finance teams, to align procurement objectives with business goals.
• Oversee and develop robust sourcing processes for all external products and services to ensure they are fit for purpose, agile, and efficient. This will include early involvement of legal and procurement functions, supplier onboarding and lead-time from initiation to order.
• Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favourable terms.
• Implement and monitor performance metrics to evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure a seamless transition to NetSuite, leveraging the new system to streamline procurement processes and reporting.
• Coach other members of the team on best practice procurement and also support the head of Procurement in delivering and updating the target operating model for the procurement function
• Bring in new insights to improve the way Indirect operates as well as insights to support finding opportunities as well as risk in key high risk category areas

Role Specific Criteria (Experience/Behaviours/Technical Ability)

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or MCIPS qualified.
• An experienced procurement professional, who understands what 'good' looks like within both process and practice, with the ability to turn this into strategy and execution.
• Strong demonstrable experience in indirect procurement category management, with a strong focus on IT spend optimisation.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering significant cash savings and improving EBITDA through procurement strategies.
• Exceptional negotiation, people management and contract management skills, with the ability to influence and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• A confident and personable demeanour, ensuring approachability and effective communication.
• Experience with transitioning to new Finance/Procurement systems
• Excellent excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and present it in a way to identify opportunities for the business
