Job summary

Lampton Group, based in London Borough of Hounslow, seeks a Head of Procurement to lead strategy, governance and commercial capability ensuring compliant, value-for-money outcomes across public-sector projects.

You will drive supplier and contract management, support CPD and Procurement Act 2023 training, and guide a high-performing team toward strategic goals while benefiting from the organization's pay reviews, holidays and wellbeing perks.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading procurement in a regulated public-sector environment.
• Expert knowledge of public procurement legislation including the Procurement Act 2023 and associated regulations; Practitioner level certification.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience of leading complex, high-value procurements.
• Understanding of contract law, negotiation, risk management and supplier markets.
• Strategic thinker with leadership, influencing and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to balance compliance, innovation and pragmatic problem-solving.
• Significant senior-level procurement experience in a regulated or complex environment.
• Proven track record delivering value for money and improved commercial outcomes.
• Completion of or commitment to Procurement Act 2023 Practitioner-level certification for compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all procurement activity to ensure compliance and value for money.
• Develop and implement a forward-looking procurement strategy aligned to objectives.
• Provide expert commercial leadership with category management and market engagement.
• Lead, manage and develop the procurement team.
• Identify capability gaps and implement training pathways including CPD and Practitioner-level training.
• Act as senior advisor on procurement and commercial risk.
• Lead major procurements using appropriate sourcing strategies.
• Monitor performance metrics, savings, cycle times and resilience.
• Ensure compliance with Procurement Act 2023 and governance policies.
• Develop a robust contract management framework and KPIs.
