Job summary

Manchester-based client seeks a Principal Process Engineer to lead process engineering across water and wastewater projects. You will provide technical direction, shape design solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Strong leadership and hands-on design delivery are essential.

The role requires chartered status or near-chartered, with extensive experience in treatment processes and project delivery from design through commissioning.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of process design experience in the water sector.
• Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant design.
• Proven experience delivering process design for water and wastewater projects.
• Chartered Engineer status or near-chartered.
• Experience leading HAZOP studies and technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of robust, practical process design solutions for water and wastewater projects.
• Review and approve design deliverables, reports, specifications and DRAs.
• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams and support tender submissions.
• Mentor engineers and graduates; drive continuous improvement of standards.
