Job summary

Arup seeks a senior process engineer for water/industrial projects across the North of England with international collaboration. You will lead multidisciplinary teams through concept to detailed design, guiding process engineers to deliver within timelines and budget, and directing teams in a regulated environment.

You’ll develop mass/energy balances, data sheets, control philosophies and commissioning plans, while mentoring junior engineers and engaging in feasibility studies and fee proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in chemical engineering or similar.
• Experience leading process engineering teams to deliver within budget and timelines across the water sector.
• Proficient in Biowin and GPS-X modelling software.
• Experience as process designer in HazOp teams.
• Experience developing fee proposals, PID layouts, plant GA drawings, and energy/mass balances.
• Experience in feasibility studies and capital cost forecasting.
• Line manager responsibilities supporting engineers and early careers.
• Experience using digital approaches and current design software.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in multidisciplinary teams, coordinating work and liaising with engineers from different disciplines.
• Develop mass and energy balances, process data sheets, control philosophies and commissioning plans.
• Contribute to report writing, feasibility studies and fee proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and help shape future process engineering capabilities.
• Apply regulatory and design gate processes in project delivery.
• Develop plant layouts, PID diagrams and energy/mass balance models.
