Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Process Engineer (Water and Wastewater) based in Midlands, UK.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Design Manager to deliver Coffey design works across Ireland and the UK, for public and private sector clients.
- Assisting the Tendering Department by producing relevant, high-quality tender submissions as required and requested by the Tendering Department and Senior Management. Submissions must be produced by the deadlines set by the Tender Co-Ordinator.
- Producing and developing process design deliverables for different tenders and project stages, from preliminary to detailed design for construction. Deliverables include process selection, process design calculations, P&ID and PFD development, mass balance, system description, and control philosophy.
- Assisting the commercial/estimating team in developing CAPEX and OPEX models.
- Developing/reviewing Coffey tender/preliminary and detailed designs. Proposing value engineering measures to enhance economic viability and robustness of tenders.
- Collaborating with the Lead Process Engineer to visit municipal and private-sector sites, auditing current water and wastewater treatment plants and processes. Producing detailed assessment reports with recommendations and preliminary CAPEX and OPEX costs.
- Producing Drinking Water Safety Plans (DWSP) for municipal and private clients, following WHO standards, covering system assessment, monitoring, reporting, and surveillance.
- Reviewing and commenting on proposed Coffey designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, considering future O&M aspects. Participating in HAZOP studies and workshops.
- Managing time effectively to complete work within specified timelines and budgets.
- Providing technical process support to the O&M Department, including jar testing, site audits, inspections, and process improvement recommendations.
- Assisting in testing and commissioning water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Supporting the Commercial Department and Manager on O&M commercial and contractual matters.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and regional offices as required.
- Mentoring junior engineers, scientists, technicians, and designers.
About You
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in process design or equivalent.
- Proven track record in delivering technical designs, including process, civil, mechanical, and electrical/ICA elements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
