Job Description

We are hiring a Senior Process Engineer (Water and Wastewater) based in Midlands, UK.

Responsibilities:

1. Working closely with the Design Manager to deliver Coffey design works across Ireland and the UK, for public and private sector clients.
2. Assisting the Tendering Department by producing relevant, high-quality tender submissions as required and requested by the Tendering Department and Senior Management. Submissions must be produced by the deadlines set by the Tender Co-Ordinator.
3. Producing and developing process design deliverables for different tenders and project stages, from preliminary to detailed design for construction. Deliverables include process selection, process design calculations, P&ID and PFD development, mass balance, system description, and control philosophy.
4. Assisting the commercial/estimating team in developing CAPEX and OPEX models.
5. Developing/reviewing Coffey tender/preliminary and detailed designs. Proposing value engineering measures to enhance economic viability and robustness of tenders.
6. Collaborating with the Lead Process Engineer to visit municipal and private-sector sites, auditing current water and wastewater treatment plants and processes. Producing detailed assessment reports with recommendations and preliminary CAPEX and OPEX costs.
7. Producing Drinking Water Safety Plans (DWSP) for municipal and private clients, following WHO standards, covering system assessment, monitoring, reporting, and surveillance.
8. Reviewing and commenting on proposed Coffey designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, considering future O&M aspects. Participating in HAZOP studies and workshops.
9. Managing time effectively to complete work within specified timelines and budgets.
10. Providing technical process support to the O&M Department, including jar testing, site audits, inspections, and process improvement recommendations.
11. Assisting in testing and commissioning water and wastewater treatment plants.
12. Supporting the Commercial Department and Manager on O&M commercial and contractual matters.
13. Willingness to travel to project sites and regional offices as required.
14. Mentoring junior engineers, scientists, technicians, and designers.

About You

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
2. Minimum 8 years of experience in process design or equivalent.
3. Proven track record in delivering technical designs, including process, civil, mechanical, and electrical/ICA elements.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
