Job summary

Taxation is a respected professional services practice in Surrey seeking an experienced Trust Senior Tax Manager to join its private client team.

You will advise a sophisticated portfolio of high-net-worth individuals on UK and international tax matters, combining advisory work with compliance oversight and direct client engagement, with exposure to wealth structuring and succession planning.

Qualifications

• Experience advising a complex UK and international high-net-worth client base.
• Strong technical knowledge of private client tax, including inheritance tax, estate planning and wealth structuring.
• Experience reviewing tax returns and providing technical guidance to colleagues.
• Ability to identify tax planning and restructuring opportunities and communicate recommendations clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns prepared by consultants, providing technical input and ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Identify opportunities to restructure clients’ tax affairs and discuss planning options with the relevant Partner or client.
• Provide specialist tax advice across estate planning, inheritance tax, wealth structuring and international tax matters.
• Advise on complex UK and international personal tax affairs for high-net-worth individuals.
• Liaise with HMRC in relation to tax investigations and other relevant matters.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients alongside the Partner, maintaining strong and trusted relationships.
• Manage workflow effectively within a busy, deadline-driven environment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues to maintain high standards of delivery.
• Keep up to date with relevant tax developments and identify opportunities to improve clients’ tax positions.
