Job summary

AAB is seeking a Private Client Tax Advisory Manager/Senior Manager in Belfast to lead high‑level advisory work for private clients, including estates, trusts, and cross‑border tax issues. You will manage client relationships, guide a team, and collaborate with business development to grow the practice.

You should bring a professional tax designation and substantial experience in private client tax, with knowledge of Irish taxes and UK interactions.

Qualifications

• Qualified in a professional tax designation (CA/ATT/CTA/STEP or equivalent).
• Experience in a similar private client tax role with knowledge of Irish CGT/CAT and UK taxes.
• Proven advisory experience and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience leading a team and using tax software.
• Ability to undertake independent technical research (e.g. Tolleys Guidance/Library).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead client projects with challenging technical tax advice.
• Manage client relationships and deliver strategic private client advisory.
• Support leadership in day-to-day department operations and strategic objectives.
• Identify opportunities to promote the business and secure new work with BD support.
• Be the go-to technical expert on private client topics (IHT, Trusts, Estates, succession).
• Review and sign off complex Self Assessment Tax Returns.
• Liaise with external advisors to deliver high‑level tax guidance.
• Share technical expertise with staff and wider firm to develop service lines.
• Maintain long-standing trusted client relationships on behalf of the firm.
