We are working exclusively with a globally recognised tech organisation seeking an experienced privacy lawyer to join their legal team. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll tackle cutting-edge privacy issues in a fast-paced, consumer-facing environment. The role offers flexible working arrangements, with candidates able to work remotely most of the time, with occasional visits required.

The Opportunity

You’ll support regulatory and user privacy issues across the EMEA region, helping to manage user trust and engagement with a popular tech product used by millions worldwide. Working alongside legal and cross-functional teams across Europe, you’ll contribute to privacy-led decision making, advise on regulatory matters and user escalations, and help shape long-term engagement strategies with regulators across the EU and UK. This high-impact role provides exposure to complex privacy challenges and the opportunity to influence the platform’s EMEA privacy posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a wide range of privacy and data protection issues, especially relating to GDPR and its interaction with other global privacy regimes.
• Leading and supporting regulatory engagements with EMEA regulators (e.g., DPC, ICO, CNIL, Garante).
• Handling user escalations and complaints that raise legal or regulatory concerns.
• Supporting the development of proactive and reactive regulatory strategies, including stakeholder preparation for high-level meetings.
• Collaborating closely with internal legal, policy, and product teams to embed privacy into business processes and remediation planning.
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and advising the business on potential risks and strategic implications.

About You

• Qualified lawyer (UK or EU), trained at a reputable city firm or with strong in-house legal experience.
• Strong working knowledge of data protection and privacy laws (particularly GDPR).
• Deep regulatory experience in privacy is a plus but not essential.
• Confident handling cross-border issues and balancing legal advice with business priorities.
• Clear communicator, adaptable, and pragmatic in your legal approach.
• Candidates based in the UK, Ireland, France, or Germany with relevant experience are preferred.
