We are working exclusively with a globally recognized tech organization seeking an experienced privacy lawyer to join their legal team. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll address cutting-edge privacy issues in a fast-paced, consumer-facing environment. The role offers flexible working arrangements, with candidates able to work remotely most of the time, with occasional visits required.

The Opportunity

You’ll support regulatory and user privacy issues across the EMEA region, helping to manage user trust and engagement with a widely used tech product. Working with legal and cross-functional teams across Europe, you’ll contribute to privacy-led decision making, advise on regulatory matters and user escalations, and help shape long-term engagement strategies with regulators across the EU and UK. This high-impact role offers exposure to complex privacy challenges and the opportunity to influence the platform’s EMEA privacy posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on privacy and data protection issues, especially relating to GDPR and its interaction with other privacy regimes.
• Leading and supporting regulatory engagements with EMEA regulators (e.g., DPC, ICO, CNIL, Garante).
• Handling user escalations and complaints that involve legal or regulatory concerns.
• Supporting the development of regulatory strategies, including stakeholder preparation for high-level meetings.
• Collaborating with internal legal, policy, and product teams to embed privacy into business processes and remediation planning.
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and advising on risks and strategic implications.

About You

• Qualified lawyer (UK or EU), trained at a reputable city firm or with strong in-house legal experience.
• Strong knowledge of data protection and privacy laws, especially GDPR.
• Deep regulatory experience in privacy is a plus but not essential.
• Confident handling cross-border issues and balancing legal advice with business priorities.
• Clear communicator, adaptable, pragmatic in your legal approach.
• Based in the UK, Ireland, France, or Germany, with relevant experience preferred.
