Job summary

Atlassian is hiring a Senior Privacy Counsel – Cybersecurity & Trust in the United Kingdom. You will lead privacy strategy, advise on incidents, and support global privacy compliance within a remote-friendly, global team.

You will collaborate with governance, risk, and compliance teams while providing clear guidance to senior leadership and product teams across EMEA privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience practicing law, including incident response and compliance advice.
• Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and industry frameworks (ISO 27701, SOC2).
• CIPP certifications valued but not required.
• Ability to distill complex concepts for senior leaders and work in a dynamic, remote-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Incident Response: investigate and manage obligations during incidents with compliant, risk-balanced solutions.
• Cybersecurity and eSafety advice to security and product teams to mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance.
• GTM support: advise across customer lifecycle, including pre-sales content and privacy negotiations for cloud migrations.
• Customer engagement: address privacy needs for the EMEA region with local business practices.
• Regulatory compliance: monitor global privacy laws and prepare practical responses.
• Cross-functional engagement: collaborate on governance, risk & compliance and privacy policies.
