Job summary

The Forward Trust is seeking a Band 7 Nurse Manager to lead the nursing team in our specialist substance misuse service within a prison setting. You will provide clinical leadership, ensure safe, evidence-based care and oversee prescribing and medication processes in a custodial environment.

You will lead, supervise and develop your nursing staff, manage recruitment and staff development, and ensure appraisal and revalidation requirements are met, while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Current UK registration as an RMN or RGN or equivalent.
• Post-registration experience in substance misuse treatment and recovery.
• Experience in health service management or nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the nursing team in a specialist substance misuse service within a prison setting.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and governance across the service.
• Oversee prescribing services, including substitute prescribing, detoxification and controlled drugs management.
• Support recruitment, appraisals, training and revalidation requirements.
