The Forward Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Substance Misuse Nurse for HMP Send and Coldingley. You will deliver nurse-led clinical and psychosocial interventions to individuals with substance misuse issues in a prison environment, developing personalised care plans and monitoring treatments.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, promote health, maintain records, and comply with safeguarding and security vetting. A commitment to reducing harm and improving wellbeing is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
• Minimum of one year post-registration experience.
• Experience or keen interest in substance misuse nursing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a prison or secure healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of substance misuse treatment protocols and harm reduction strategies.
• Additional qualifications or training in substance misuse or mental health nursing.

Responsabilités

• Clinical Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalised care plans.
• Treatment Delivery: Administer and monitor prescribed treatments, including MAT, following guidelines.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals, prison staff and external agencies.
• Health Promotion & Education: Deliver health education and advice to promote recovery.
• Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate patient records in line with standards.
• Safeguarding & Risk Management: Identify and address safeguarding concerns and risks.
