Job summary

Sygnature Discovery Limited is seeking an experienced Associate Principal Scientist / Principal Scientist for our Chemistry team at Alderley Park. You will lead medicinal chemistry programmes, shape project strategies, and mentor scientists across cross-disciplinary teams.

You will collaborate with Bioscience, DMPK, and other disciplines to define integrated project strategies, influence scientific direction, and communicate progress to clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary drug discovery projects.
• Broad understanding of integrated drug discovery across disciplines.
• Strong people leadership with mentoring and coaching experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management to influence diverse audiences.
• Commercial awareness with client interaction and proposals.
• Motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and influence complex medicinal chemistry programmes across pre-clinical stages.
• Develop high performing project teams and ensure delivery of excellent science.
• Communicate scientific strategy and project outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to operational strategy, business growth, recruitment, and capability development.
• Mentor, coach, train, and manage performance of scientists across the department.
• Uphold high standards of laboratory practice, data integrity, safety, and compliance.
• Represent Sygnature externally through client engagement, publications, and conferences.
