Job summary

Priory Beverley House in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Principal Psychologist to lead psychology services, deliver high-quality input, and develop care pathways for a designated ward. This is a full-time, site-based position at Beverley House with a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and HCPC registration is required.

The role includes supervising Assistant Psychologists, conducting assessments, formulating plans, and working with the MDT to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification leading to HCPC registration
• HCPC registration current and active
• Formal training in at least two therapeutic modalities

Responsibilities

• Leading the psychology provision for a designated ward or group of patients.
• Providing high-quality psychological input responsive to patient needs, risks and presentations.
• Working with the MDT to support patient care.
• Undertaking comprehensive psychological assessments, formulation and evaluation to inform care.
• Delivering evidence-based psychological interventions singly and in groups.
• Providing line management to Assistant Psychologists with supervision.
• Contributing to the development and delivery of effective psychological care.
