Job Description
Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on leading the way on solving difficult engineering problems? Are you drawn to complex projects and excited by the opportunity to rapidly progress your technical leadership skills to the next level, heading up multi-disciplinary projects?
If so, you might enjoy solving the energy industry’s most important mechanical engineering conundrums for a multitude of energy systems across a variety of clients. You could be managing exciting projects designing test rigs in support of the development of the UK's nuclear fusion capabilities, carrying out structural integrity assessments of primary plant (for both civil and defence applications) to keep existing fleet generating, designing high integrity structures for new nuclear establishments, or leading renewable energy projects across a growing carbon net zero portfolio. You’re likely to be juggling several projects simultaneously, so enjoying being adaptable is a must! The constant in this role is the complex nature of the jobs and the chance to provide innovative solutions to a range of problems for several clients.
Whichever energy-related projects you get involved in, you’ll be engaged in developing engineering solutions to industry’s most challenging problems, making an important contribution to UK energy and environmental security.
If you are a self-starter who can deliver multiple projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects, and deliver right-first-time solutions, then we’d love you to apply.

Role Requirements:
You will deliver projects, lead teams and programmes, or work directly for our clients embedded into their major programmes. To benefit from the collective experience of the team and our clients, and drive innovative thinking, you’ll work in a collaborative and supportive office/site environment for at least half of your working week. You will bring sound commercial awareness when supervising teams to effectively deliver tasks across multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Your work will be diverse and challenging, including overseeing and checking code-compliant calculations, reviewing and approving technical documents, managing design activities and outputs (CAD designs and drawings), and liaising with project managers and directors to support commercial matters and bidding activities.
We succeed by working closely with our clients, matching our skills to their needs, being flexible, and using resources efficiently. Whether delivering engineering services or programme management, we always aim to provide the right solution.
