Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Building Technology Systems designer to craft IT networks and ELV solutions for landmark projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and liaise with clients to capture requirements, delivering detailed BTS designs and schedules.

This role offers hybrid work, opportunities for Chartership, and exposure to diverse projects across the UK and beyond.

Qualifications

• CIBSE/IET/Engineering Council accredited honours degree or equivalent that could lead to Chartership.
• RevitMEP training applied to the discipline.
• Any accredited network qualification is desirable.
• Eligible to live and work in the UK and capable of achieving SC-level UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement leading-edge network designs into real-world applications.

Responsibilities

• Building Technology Systems (BTS) – discipline encompassing IT and Communications Network Infrastructure and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems
• You will be designing IT networks within buildings, alongside multiple design disciplines
• You will liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand, develop, and interpret their requirements
• You will be implementing the latest leading edge network designs and technologies into the real world applications.
• You will be creating future- ready buildings.

Core Functions

• Work within a BTS discipline team within the Building Services discipline (regular liaison with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing team) providing design and technical advice on projects lead by seniors or take a discipline lead role on smaller projects
• Complete detailed designs
• Carry out feasibility studies for review by colleagues prior to issue
• Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and contribute to the overall feasibility study for the project
• Produce detailed and performance specification for the BTS subject to review by colleagues prior to issue
• Produce detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs.
• Ability to work independently using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role
• Ability to work under the clear direction of others and interpret the needs of the project where applicable to the discipline
