Job Title: Senior/Principal Fire Risk Assessor

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Fire Risk Assessor to develop a compliance team as a distinct part of our national Fire Team. Our fire engineering expertise spans from concept to construction, ensuring complex buildings meet regulations. Our team has extensive experience across residential, commercial, industrial, and high-hazard process projects. This role involves taking ownership of projects after the initial design stages.

We desire a candidate with entrepreneurial flair, commitment, and passion, capable of establishing and running the team as a separate business entity. The ideal candidate will have the experience and contacts to quickly establish this service as a viable operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity of Fire Safety Strategies during the construction phase
  • Undertake commissioning of fire safety systems prior to occupancy
  • Conduct pre and post Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring safety compliance and reporting
  • Provide technical advice aligned with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
  • Provide Fire Warden Training
  • Develop Fire Safety Management Plans
  • Create evacuation plans

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in completing Fire Risk Assessments
  • Recognized qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessments from reputable providers (e.g., Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association)
  • NEBOSH certification
  • Full, maintained CPD log for fire prevention
  • Minimum Technician membership with the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • Recognized 3rd party accreditation (e.g., Institute of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors) is desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management
  • Strong literacy and written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Effective planning and organization to meet deadlines
