Fire Risk Assessor

Location: Derby office but primarily home based with travel to sites

Salary / Benefits: £45,000 - £50,000, Negotiable depending on experience & level.

Company Information: A leading provider of cost-effective Management Consultancy, Fire Safety, RM3, Accident & Investigation, Accident & Incident Training, Auditing, Site Safety Inspections, and Health & Safety services is looking to hire a Fire Risk Assessor in Derby.

The role involves conducting Fire Risk Assessments on various premises, producing reports, and delivering findings to clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Follow strict fire safety legislation and guidelines set by government and fire rescue services.
  2. Identify hazards and assess the potential risk of fire in the building.
  3. Stay updated with changes in fire safety regulations, such as the Government Fire Safety Order.
  4. Collaborate with fire services, building managers, surveyors, fire engineers, and landlords to develop and implement fire safety plans.
  5. Provide verbal and written fire safety advice to clients, including fire safety action plans.
  6. Maintain professional development to stay current with regulations and fire safety developments.
  7. Produce detailed reports of assessments, including diagrams if necessary, recorded electronically.
  8. Deliver fire safety training as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Fire Risk Assessor with demonstrable assessment work.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalent.
  • Level 4 Diploma (NOS) in Fire Safety or equivalent.
  • Membership in one of the following: IFE, IFSM, or IFPO.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in fire safety, building surveying, or related fields.
  • Experience with ISO9001/BAFE SP205 standards.
  • PAS79:1 & PAS70:2 Fire Risk Assessment experience or equivalent.
  • Enforcing Officer (fire-related), H&S Officer with fire experience, Building Regulations Assessor, or Fire Fighter with training.

Other Requirements:

Full driving license (preferably clean) and access to a private vehicle.
