Job Description:
We are looking for a wide range of High Speed Digital Electronics Engineers at various levels to join Leonardo in Newcastle.
As a Digital Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Designing high-speed digital Printed Circuit Boards utilizing the latest FPGA, Microprocessor, and high-speed interconnect technologies.
- Supporting the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis, design, unit testing, to system integration, acceptance testing, and delivery.
- Documenting work products and managing configuration control, along with providing plans and progress reports.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex system integration problems.
- Analyzing system-level requirements and applying them to hardware design.
- Creating schematics and designing high-speed serial communication links, understanding related protocols and architectures.
- Hands-on hardware, firmware, and software integration of microprocessor-based designs.
- Following a structured hardware design process throughout the full lifecycle.
- Debugging, testing, verifying new designs, and supporting their commissioning and integration.
- Liaising with suppliers of key components and assemblies.
- Communicating effectively across disciplines, both verbally and in writing.
- Working independently or as part of a team to resolve technical issues.
- Managing work schedules to meet project timelines and budgets.
