Job summary

Russell Taylor Group seeks an experienced Senior Construction Safety Consultant to join its Safety & Risk team in Birmingham, delivering Principal Designer and CDM advisory services across a varied portfolio. You will work with developers, design teams and contractors to provide practical, commercially informed guidance and develop essential safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and their practical application.
• Experience acting as Principal Designer and/or CDM Advisor on construction projects.
• Ability to engage with clients, design teams, contractors and senior stakeholders.
• Experience preparing and reviewing construction safety documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high service standards.
• Commercially aware, pragmatic approach to construction risk management.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Principal Designer and CDM Advisor across construction and refurbishment projects.
• Advising clients and project teams on CDM responsibilities under the CDM Regulations 2015.
• Leading design risk management discussions and contributing to design team meetings.
• Preparing and reviewing Pre-Construction Information, Design Risk Registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health & Safety Files.
• Reviewing contractor RAMS, with particular attention to higher-risk construction activities.
• Undertaking site safety inspections, preparing reports and advising on corrective actions.
• Working collaboratively with project managers, architects, engineers and other construction professionals.
• Developing lasting client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the consultancy's Safety & Risk services.
