Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to join our Cortex team in the UK. You will help prevent, detect and respond to threats by building scalable server-side infrastructure that processes immense data streams, while collaborating with leading cybersecurity products.

You will own the full software lifecycle, from requirements and design to deployment and support, delivering performant code.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in distributed cloud products.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining scalable server-side applications.
• Knowledge of Go and/or Python; Kubernetes/Docker experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure to process billions of events per second, accessible and visible to users.
• Write clean, testable, readable, fast and scalable code.
• Drive inception, strategy and execution of Autopilot, the autonomous investigation and response solution.
