Job summary

Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice service is seeking a Senior Primary Care Nurse to lead a multidisciplinary, nurse-led service at HMP Wealstun. The role focuses on preventing hospital admissions, managing medication rounds, and responding to emergencies within a prison setting.

Full-time across three days (7am to 7:30pm) with alternate weekends; includes opportunity to undertake a prescribing course, subject to NMC registration and vetting.

Qualifications

• Current professional nursing qualification.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
• Undertake medication rounds.
• Dispense controlled medication and attend emergency response situations.
• Assess patients and undertake reception screening.
• Provide evidence-based care and promote continuous quality improvement.
