Job summary

Protect Group is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead pricing and machine learning initiatives. You will design and productionize pricing models, run experiments, and collaborate with finance and product teams to optimize revenue and risk.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on data science or ML with production models.
• Experience in pricing, revenue optimization or commercial decision models.
• Strong Python and SQL, production-quality code and testing.
• Knowledge of gradient boosting, GLMs, Bayesian methods or similar.
• Experience designing pricing experiments and assessing commercial impact.
• Ability to translate business problems into deployed ML solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure ML tooling and CI/CD workflows.
• Clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Evidence of mentoring or technical leadership.
• Awareness of GDPR and data regulations.

Responsibilities

• Own development and continuous improvement of production pricing models.
• Turn pricing opportunities into hypotheses, experiments and changes.
• Evaluate pricing with backtesting and online experiments.
• Develop Bayesian, multi-armed bandit and other optimization approaches.
• Collaborate with commercial, finance and product teams on pricing performance.
• Build risk models and agentic systems to improve pricing and operations.
• Apply offline and online evaluation to all work; ensure reproducibility.
• Ship reliable models with versioned artefacts and monitoring.
