Qualified Social Worker - Senior Practitioner - Safeguarding

Location: North East

Pay rate: £32 per hour

We are seeking experienced and passionate Senior Practitioner Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Safeguarding team. As part of the team for a local authority in the North East, you will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide earlier help. Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, and guided by the values and principles of social care, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Your excellent communication skills will help you establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.

You will be committed to achieving positive and sustainable outcomes for children. Using best practices, you will strive to ensure the best outcomes for children, with a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and operate efficiently.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues.
  • Committed to continuous improvement for better outcomes.
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation.
  • Able to build meaningful relationships with children and families.
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality service.
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work.
  • 4+ years qualified.

In this role, you will:

  • Assess risks, protection, and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed caseload.
  • Use communication skills to achieve outcomes.
  • Devise individual care plans respecting diversity and dignity.
  • Support and advise unqualified staff and students.
