Senior Worker - Family Safeguarding Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practitioner Coordinator to support the development of the Family Safeguarding Team in Walsall.

What are we looking for? The post of Senior Practitioner, you will be the expert in substance misuse providing support to the Family Safeguarding Team and working with families to make a difference. You should evidence your experience as a substance misuse practitioner in your application and how your experience meets the job description as a Senior Practitioner.

The Family Safeguarding model will allow practitioners on focussing on a whole family approach and make it easy for parents to access all the support they need from within one team, to help them deal with the complex issues of domestic abuse, mental health and drug/alcohol abuse that harm their lives and those of their children. By using motivational practice to enable many more parents to accept help, Family Safeguarding provides specially designed individual and group work programmes to change abusive behaviours, improve parental mental health and reduce harmful substance misuse.

The Senior practitioner will play a crucial role in ensuring there is consistency in the delivery of substance misuse treatment across the 4 Walsall Localities, while at the same time ensuring that Substance misuse practitioners are integrated within the both the Specialist Substance Misuse Treatment service and Walsall Children Services. The Senior practitioner will be responsible for the delivery of professional training across the Walsall Partnership and will deputise in the absence of the team leader.

Location: Walsall
Full Time Salary Range: £32,002.35 to £34,214.21 (pro rata for part time)
Full time Hours: 37.5 per week

*Please note: full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in screening and allocation of referrals from Children services.
  • Assist in ensuring the specialist drug and alcohol treatment pathways are consistent.
  • Offer non-judgmental, trauma-informed interventions in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Link in with local services to reduce the barriers faced by individuals using our service
  • Support the integration of Family practitioners within both Change Grow Live and Children Services.
  • Contribute and attend relevant multi-agency meetings

About You:

  • Has experience working with complex substance use needs in a harm reduction or recovery-focused setting.
  • Is passionate about empowering people to make informed choices about their health and well-being.
  • Is confident in developing partnerships to improve service accessibility and engagement.
  • Can provide training and guidance to colleagues, sharing knowledge around harm reduction and interventions.
