Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Senior Practitioner for the Complex and Enduring Mental Health Team in Birmingham. The role is locum for three months with hybrid working and a competitive hourly rate of £33.30.

You will safeguard and support children and young people with complex mental health needs, mentor junior staff, and lead on cases when required. A current Social Work qualification and registration are essential, with a valid driving licence expected.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in safeguarding.
• Social Work qualification with registration is required.
• Desirable: experience with child and adolescent complex mental health.
• Dynamic, innovative practitioner committed to long-term impact.
• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality safeguarding interventions for children and adolescents with complex needs.
• Manage and oversee complex cases with a child-centred approach.
• Mentor and support newly qualified social workers and students.
• Develop and maintain multi-agency partnerships for holistic care.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments and social work strategies.
• Lead when Team Manager is unavailable to ensure service continuity.
