Job summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking an experienced safeguarding-led Senior Practitioner to join Ascent (The Complex and Enduring Mental Health Team) in Birmingham. You will lead complex case work and collaborate with education and health partners to safeguard children and young people.

The role requires SWE registration, a background in child and adolescent mental health, a proven safeguarding track record, and the ability to mentor junior social workers.

Qualifications

  • You will be an experienced safeguarding-led Senior Practitioner registered with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Background in child and adolescent complex mental health is preferred or a willingness to develop these skills.
  • Proven track record in safeguarding, complex case management and high-quality assessments and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safeguarding and complex case work for children and young people.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and deliver timely, child-centered services.
  • Mentor and support newly qualified social workers, students and family support workers.
