Job summary

Birmingham Children’s Trust is actively seeking a safeguarding-led Senior Practitioner to protect children and young people in a dynamic, hybrid role based in Birmingham. You will work across vulnerable groups, provide high-quality assessments, and mentor colleagues to strengthen safeguarding practices.

You must be SWE registered, drive to enable flexible multi-agency partnership working, and be committed to improving life outcomes for families within the city.

Qualifications

• Experienced safeguarding-led Senior Practitioner registered with SWE.
• Background in child and adolescent mental health or willingness to develop.
• Proven track record in safeguarding and timely high-quality assessments.
• Ability to mentor newly qualified social workers and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and protect children and young people, sometimes over long periods.
• Undertake complex casework with a child-centred, relationship-based approach.
