Job summary

Oxfordshire County Council is seeking an experienced social worker for the Children’s Disability Team South in Kidlington. The role involves safeguarding, assessments, court-related work and supporting families with children with disabilities in a hybrid office pattern.

You will work with Child in Need, Child Protection, Care Proceedings and adoption plans, ensuring participation and children’s rights are reflected in practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified and registered social worker with safeguarding and court-work experience.
• Strong communication, analytical and supervision skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies and families.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Work with children subject to Child in Need or Child Protection planning and court proceedings.
• Provide timely support to vulnerable families and manage safeguarding risks.
• Undertake assessments, analysis and risk management for allocated children.
• Maintain case records and produce timely assessments and reports.
• Prepare and manage court work and liaise with guardians and legal reps.
• Supervise students and support induction for new staff.
• Facilitate group supervision and contribute to practice development.
