Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join its West Social Worker Case Holding Team. The role involves holding and managing a range of statutory children's social care cases, with emphasis on timely safeguarding, assessments and permanence planning for vulnerable children and families.

Working within a front-line, duty-rotated service, you will provide case leadership, contribute to court work where required and collaborate with partner agencies to secure

Qualifications

• Social Work England registration and recognised social work qualification.
• Significant post-qualified experience in Children’s Services.
• Strong experience of child protection, court work and care planning.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred practice.

Responsibilities

• Holding and managing complex children's social care cases
• Completing assessments, plans and statutory visits
• Working with Children in Need and Child Protection cases
• Supporting Looked After Children
• Leading work with families in pre-proceedings
• Initiating and supporting care proceedings when required
• Producing high-quality assessments, reports and court documentation
• Working collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and families
• Providing practice leadership and support within the team
