Responsibilities:
- Manage a small allocation of children and provide reflective supervision to the family support worker.
- Carry out effective assessment, planning, and delivery of social work services to children and families, promoting life chances for children and young people under Walsall Council's responsibility.
- Provide quality social work services to children in need and their families, complying with legal requirements, departmental policies, and procedures.
- Practice social work responsibly within the legislative framework and council policies, under the supervision of the Team Manager.
- Ensure all work is completed within the specified timescales, adhering to national and local policies.
- Manage a varied workload, including challenging cases involving vulnerable children and families with complex issues.
- Undertake safeguarding investigations, attend strategy meetings, case conferences, and reviews as required; perform the lead professional role if appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, colleagues, and other agencies to develop effective relationships.
- Provide high-quality, timely assessments and reports for courts, child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and other forums as directed.
- Complete life journey work.
- Support newer staff members.
- Assist the Manager in chairing meetings, conducting statutory visits, and maintaining accurate records.
