Job summary

Cranstoun Group in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our psychosocial drug and alcohol service at HMP Birmingham. You will lead on auditing patient records, supervise trainee key workers, and support innovation within the clinical team in a prison setting.

All posts require an enhanced DBS disclosure. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at application and sponsorship is not available for this post.

Salary: 27,180 – 33,580 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 35 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Senior Practitioner within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with services users to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.

You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for trainee key workers and newly appointed keyworkers, providing guidance and peer supervision. You will lead on auditing patient records regularly and support with innovation and implementing new initiatives. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider drug strategy.

You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently. Previous experience of support and leadership is advantageous but not essential. You will have experience of working with substance use settings and knowledge of the criminal justice system.
