Job summary

Castlefields Surgery in Stafford is seeking a Lead Practice Nurse on a permanent, part-time basis (33 hours per week). You will provide clinical leadership, coordinate the nursing team and maintain a direct patient-facing role within a GP-led primary care setting.

The role requires current NMC registration, experience as a Practice Nurse, and a track record in chronic disease management, immunisations and cervical screening. You will contribute to service improvement and quality governance.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience as a Practice Nurse in primary care.
• Experience in chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, respiratory).
• Qualified cervical screening sample taker.
• Immunisations and vaccinations including childhood.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day coordination of the nursing team, with a direct patient-facing role.
• Coordinate delivery of nursing services, ensuring safe allocation of duties and workload management.
• Lead on induction, supervision and professional development of nursing staff, with performance reviews where appropriate.
• Lead on clinical governance, infection control and maintaining high standards of care.
