Reed Practice in Colchester is partnering with a respected independent firm to recruit an experienced Practice Senior Accountant. You will join a stable, collaborative environment with clear internal promotions and a varied client portfolio across sectors.

As Senior Accountant reporting to Partners, you will oversee year-end accounts, VAT and taxation for a range of clients, mentor juniors, and help drive growth while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification trained in practice, working to UK regulations.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation under FRS 102 Section 1A.
• Good working knowledge of VAT; payroll experience advantageous.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a trusted business partner to clients, providing practical accounting, taxation, and business advisory support.
• Preparing year-end accounts, corporation and self-assessment tax with VAT returns for various entity types.
• Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior members of the team.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and legislation.
• Assisting with payroll and audit assignments when required.
