Job summary

SR2 REC Ltd in Reading, a rising UK defence engineering business, seeks a hands-on Senior Electronics Engineer to develop high‑performance electrical systems within the Power Electronics division. You will own designs from early concept through schematic, PCB development and hardware bring‑up, working with firmware, controls, mechanical and test engineers.

Initially focused on compact, high‑performance power conversion and electric drive systems, the role welcomes engineers from broader power

Qualifications

Hands-on power electronics experience required.
Experience designing power converters, inverters, or motor drives.
Analogue/power electronics circuit design and schematic capture.
Power semiconductors, gate drive and sensing experience.
Hardware bring-up, testing and debugging.
Understanding of thermal, switching and electrical performance.
Experience moving designs from prototype to production.
Security clearance eligibility: dual British/NATO nationalities.

Responsibilities

Take designs from concept through schematic, PCB development, and hardware bring-up.
Work closely with firmware, controls, mechanical and test engineers.
Develop power conversion and electric drive systems.
Translate designs from prototype to production.
