Job Description:

A leading international insurance business is seeking an experienced non-life actuary to play a key role in their CUO office.

Reporting to the Deputy CUO, you will provide expertise, advice, and challenge to underwriters, actuaries, exposure managers, and other colleagues across a range of property, casualty, and specialty lines. You will work closely with pricing and portfolio management teams, delegating tasks as required but also being hands-on with risks and taking on ad-hoc requests from within the business.

The role involves setting underwriting and ceded reinsurance strategy, utilizing prior actuarial knowledge and understanding of the company's underwriting portfolio.

Ideally, you will want to work at the intersection of underwriting and actuarial work, with experience in areas such as pricing, reserving, and portfolio management. Being a qualified actuary or qualified by experience is required. This environment is dynamic and offers opportunities to work on new business regularly. Experience in a similar setting, such as a risk carrier, broker, or other insurance company, would be beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity to advance towards underwriting or other roles within the CUO office.
