Job summary

Forth Ports Limited is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for the Port of Grangemouth. Lead and coordinate container terminal, general cargo, rail, warehousing and distribution activities, working with the Asset Manager to deliver safe, efficient, and commercially successful operations.

You will use data to support decisions, oversee budgets, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining strong relationships with customers, colleagues and port users.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of port operations or a similar complex logistics environment.
• IOSH Health and Safety certificate.
• Commercial experience and strong customer relationship skills.
• Proven people leadership, performance management and attendance experience.
• Experience managing budgets and cost control with financial reporting.
• High IT literacy and ability to use data for reporting and decisions.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee port operations across container terminal, general cargo, rail, warehousing and distribution.
• Use the Terminal Operating System, live data and Power BI to support decisions and reporting.
• Monitor productivity and safety KPIs across vessel and landside operations.
• Drive continuous improvement to safety, service, productivity and costs.
• Support revenue and profit growth and identify new business opportunities.
• Build senior-level customer relationships and resolve operational issues.
• Lead and develop the Operations team and manage performance and attendance.
• Collaborate across departments and maintain relationships with workforce and unions.
• Ensure safe systems of work and incident reporting and investigation.
