Do you have excellent clinical, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills? Are you motivated to achieve great outcomes for Podiatry patients in Singapore? If so, come and join our team.

We are offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated podiatrist to join our committed and progressive Podiatry team.

You should have postgraduate experience and training in Musculoskeletal/Biomechanical conditions of the lower limb. You will work within a team and also be expected to work autonomously, acting as a resource of expertise. Experience in Shockwave Therapy and use of pressure plate gait analysis software will be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Your role will involve providing specialist input into multidisciplinary case conferences with teams such as Orthopedics, Rheumatology, and Sports Medicine.

You will demonstrate empathy, resilience, a methodical approach, and an aptitude for problem-solving using your own initiative.

Your responsibilities will include wound care, nail surgery, prevention clinics, and mentoring students. You will also be involved in educating other healthcare professionals through practical workshops on musculoskeletal foot conditions.

You are expected to participate in professional development and clinical supervision, fostering growth within yourself and your team, including students. The role is based at the National University Hospital in the Western Cluster of Singapore.

The Challenges
  1. Autonomously assess, diagnose, and manage patients with diverse medical and podiatric conditions using appropriate diagnostic techniques, skills, and tools.
  2. Recognize acute MSK and high-risk foot presentations and make appropriate referrals.
  3. Recommend and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests and x-rays, and act accordingly.
  4. Practice within your professional and clinical competence, seeking support when needed.
  5. Follow department policies on clinical governance, health and safety, and infection control.
  6. Manage or assist in managing a clinical area, ensuring optimal utilization of capacity.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in case conferences.
  8. Participate in clinical research and review/update protocols and procedures.
  9. Contribute to service and quality improvement initiatives.
  10. Lead or contribute to departmental training and educational talks.
  11. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance podiatry knowledge and skills.
  12. Supervise junior colleagues and manage staff within designated workgroups.
The Requirements
  • A recognized Degree in Podiatry
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive, collaborative attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
