Job summary

Saab UK is expanding its Sensor Systems Radar business in Fareham and seeks a Senior Systems Engineer specialising in PNT and distributed sensing. You will lead design, integration, and verification activities across cross-functional teams to deliver advanced radar and timing solutions.

Applicants should have a strong academic background (Masters/PhD) and substantial hands-on systems engineering experience with GNSS, Kalman filtering, and MBSE in radar environments. UK citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in a related field required.
• 5–10 years in radar/communications or electronic warfare systems.
• 7+ years in systems engineering focusing on PNT or distributed sensing.
• Experience with GNSS and inertial navigation.
• Experience with distributed aperture systems or MIMO radar.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation.
• Familiar with ISO 15288:2023 requirements management.
• UK or Swedish citizenship due to security classification.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design of PNT solutions and distributed sensing networks.
• Define system requirements, interfaces and performance specs.
• Develop and optimize timing distribution and GNSS-denied resilience strategies.
• Oversee V&V plans and test campaigns for timing and positioning accuracy.
• Mentor engineers and present roadmaps to leadership.
